At Brenzett, we use several forms of assessment to help make sure that your child is continually learning. These include:
- Informal assessment during lessons; all adults make checks on the work children are doing during lessons so that they can adjust it if it too hard or too easy
- Marking; adults mark children's work after the lesson so that they know what each child needs to learn the next day
- Formal assessments; we often give children more formal assessments to see how much they have remembered, for example weekly spelling and mental arithmetic tests or times tables tests.
At the end of each term (six times a year), teachers record all the things your child has achieved during the term, and checks to see whether they are on track. This information is given to you in our seasonal progress reports, and at parents' evenings. You are always welcome to come and see the class teacher to find out how your child is progressing.
