School Council
What is the School Council?
A new school council is elected each academic year, with every class from Reception to Y6 nominating representatives. This creates a central group that speaks on behalf of the whole school and makes decisions about school life. We value the opinions of our pupils and the School Council gives children a forum to share these opinions with the Headteacher and other members of staff, allowing for change and to make their school experience even better.

Welcome –
- Love tasting new foods as part of the wow days, Year R enjoyed making the train with the wheelbarrows at pumpkin picking. The Victorian day was really fun but very ‘harsh’, it made the children in Willows feel like real Victorians.
- Update on Brenzett Feast – moving to the Summer Term
Rock star day –
- Name rock hero day
- Raising money for classroom Maths games or resources and there’s a prize for the most class points and individual.
- House competitions, there will be 30 minutes in the day when everyone has to compete in the school.
- People have costumes but we should have a reserve for people that don’t bring anything in.
- Teachers vs students – the losers would have to do laps around the playgrounds.
- Prize for first to 1,000.
- For the day, we open TTRS from 7am – 7pm.
PTFA fundraising –
- Bake sales run by children and the children have to bring in cakes from each class. Maybe have store bought to ensure we know allergy lists.
- Colour run. Voted between a Saturday morning or Friday afterschool in the Summer Term. To raise more money we should open up to siblings and cousins but it’s only children running. £8 has been the agreed amount to enter but this includes squash at the end and a white polo.
- Movie night is a good idea but children would like to vote on the film and would like a few more snacks as it was close to dinner time.
- Disco KS1 and KS2 split as opposed to all in together.
- Buddy fundraising event
Church food donations –
- Brenzett Feast.
- Box in our office to collect food each term.
- Have competitions between the classes to try and encourage donations.
- Cereal box dominos.
Afterschool clubs –
- Children are really enjoying the Warhammer club with Miss Down.
- Drawing club
- Interest club where children get to present their interests by the end of the term.
- Would like more options for afterschool and not lunchtime clubs because children don’t want to give up their lunchtimes.
- TTRS club/ Maths and computers.
- Theatre club, inviting in actors from the local area.
- Potions club
AOB –
- Oak and Acorn joint trip with money from a bake sale.
